Hardware Developer (R&D)
Major scope of the position
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic and electromechanical hardware for new and existing products.
- Translate system requirements into robust hardware architectures, schematics, and layouts.
- Build, prototype, and debug hardware assemblies and integrated systems.
- Select and evaluate components, sensors, and materials to meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.
- Collaborate closely with the other R&D Engineers, Test Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration.
- Support hardware verification and validation by defining test requirements and reviewing test results.
- Analyze design trade-offs and propose improvements to hardware performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Document hardware designs, design decisions, and technical specifications in a clear and structured manner.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971) is a strong advantage.
- Solid experience with embedded hardware design, including microcontrollers, communication protocols, and PCB development.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM), design for test (DFT), and product lifecycle processes.
- Experience with safety-critical systems and risk-based design approaches is preferred.
- Contribute to innovation by exploring new technologies, components, and development approaches.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field).
- Strong hands-on experience in hardware design and development.
- Solid understanding of electronic circuits, embedded hardware, and measurement equipment.
- Experience with mechanical integration and working with sensors and actuators is a strong advantage.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary R&D environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical and creative mindset with a passion for developing innovative hardware solutions.
- Experience with CAD tools, and familiarity with Python, C++, LabVIEW, or similar tools is advantageous.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601, ISO 14971) is a strong advantage.
